Does anyone remember going to Sonies c 1957 to 1960. I and a large group of friends used to meet there from about 1957 to 1960. It was a workman's Cafe which had a jukebox. It cost a shilling to play five records. Interesting times as rock and roll was in its infancy and that is where all my friends went to find out where there would be parties on Saturday night. After having a coke on a Saturday we made our way to Robertsons to listen to the latest records which were just changing over from 78s to 45s.

Hi Chris. I remember Sonies used to be a little on edge as the local Ted's used get in there. I was then about 14 so was in awe of the duck tail and boston haircuts. Jukebox was the attraction of course made a cup of coffee or glass of coke last a hour or so just to listen to the latest hits lol great days gone in a flash.
