It was either at the end of Durban Road or a road parallel to Durban Road, I think. Does anyone remember the name of it and who worked there? (in the 1950s and 1960s)

Do you know what it sold? The few directories for that era are ordered by type of business.

I am almost sure it was a small grocery shop. I think I may have a photo of my grandparents inside it; I must have a search for it.
All these remembering questions ..... :-) am sidetracked now trying to remember the name of the grocer's near where we lived (after Beckenham) in Hepburn Gardens, Hayes; may have been Mr Welch. Excuse me going back in time reminiscing :-)

There was indeed a grocer's at at 192 Croydon Road, Beckenham, on the south corner with Durban Road from well before WW2 and probably WW1. I can't find it in the 1956 directory produced by Beckenham Library, but:
In 1966 Kelly's "Alphabet" for LBB, the owner was one G Perry. By 1970 (Yellow Pages) he (assuming it's the same person) had moved to No 366. Not in 1979 YP.
I can't find a grocer in Hepburn Gardens, but there is an A Welch, grocer, at 10 Addington Road, West Wickham in 1966 and to at least 1979.
Do those look promising?

You have helped me again - yes, thank you very much.
We were in Durban Road until 1960 when we moved to Hayes.
Hepburn Gardens was off Tiepigs Lane which led to Addington Road, and we lived very close to the boundary between Hayes and West Wickham. Mr Welch used to deliver our shopping, on a Friday evening I think.
