Hello, in the early sixties I can remember playing, with my friends, in what could only be described as a grotto or sort of Fred Flintstone structure at a house very near New Beckenham Railway station. If you were travelling down Lennard road and then through the subway at NB, once you came out the other side , you would turn left and double back on yourself. On the right was a pathway at what I imagine was someones back garden. At the end was a flight of steps which led up to this quite substantial stone building, which had a doorway and I believe a well on one side. Looking back it was quite creepy and there was a story about a baby that had drowned in the well ! Can anyone expand on this folly?

Wasn't that where there had been a small market garden at one time?
