Hi, does anyone remember the Trinity Youth Club, Penge around 1966? As far as I recall it was on Lennard Road, possibly part of the Holy Trinity Church on the corner of Cator Road. However, someone suggested the Youth Club itself may have been across the road from the church, where the flats are today. We used to play there in our group, The Unattached, between 1965-67 and I would just like to be able to place where it was. Also, can anyone recall another Youth Club in Sydney Road? I know there's a Conservative Club along there and I played there too in an earlier group called The Misfits, in 1965 - apparently, we only had about 5 songs so kept playing them over and over again - probably until they threw us out! Anyway, it's the possibility of another Youth Club along here I'm interested in here... I seem to think it may have been very small. With thanks, Pete

I've now had it confirmed the Trinity Youth Club was opposite the church, where the flats are now. I'd still like to know if anyone recalls another Youth Club on Sydney Road. Thanks.

Yes, I went to the Trinity too. I went to school at Cator Park and it was in the church hall just up the road opposite the park if I remember rightly.

I'm told the Youth Club was directly oppposite the Holy Trinity Church on Lennard Road itself Chezzie. The church is right on the juction of Lennard Road and Cator Road, so the Youth Club will have stood where the modern flats are today. For some reason I seem to recall going down by the side of the Church itself, but I guess I must be mistaken - unless we had access to another room at some point. The old memory plays tricks over time! ;D Yes, I went to the Trinity too. I went to school at Cator Park and it was in the church hall just up the road opposite the park if I remember rightly.

I have just had a look on the satellite map Pete, and you are right, the flats are where the youth club used to be, the park is a bit further up the road, my school is in Lennard road and our playing fields were close to the church, it is nice to see that the playing fields are still there and I think the swing park is too.

Yes, my memories are vague to say the least, and only from going there to play in the group, so you will have far more than me! Where did the time go??? Yes there was a church hall across from Holy Trinity. A friends elder sister was married in the church and had the reception in the hall They also had jumble sales there, and some friends and I used to go collecting jumble for the sale.
