For an new book on Beckenham due to be published by Halsgrove.
I am looking for images and information of the following:-
The Button Factory at 48 Maple Road that was started in 1931. The factory made buttons for soldiers' trousers and for ground sheets during WW2. It closed in November 1966 blaming competition from Hong Kong and Japan. The Roberts Court flats now occupy the site.
An image of The Mistrel Club, Beckenham Junction.
An image of The Foresters Arms in Beckenham High Street, that was opposite The George Inn.
An image Sydney Cottage, this was in front of Churchfields Road.
An image of the original Sainsbury's shop in Beckenham High Street, where the kitchen shop near The George is today.
