a lady referred to as Mrs.'B' died 18 Dec. 1952 at St.James Hospital Balham. My grandfather apparantly had some relationship with her based on Mrs. B's own relationship with my grandmother before her marriage. It's thought that at one time my grandmother worked in a business run by Mrs. B and her then husband in Beckenham. It might have been a laundry or maybe a bar. It seems unlikely Mrs.B lived in Balham, more likely she and family lived in Beckenham. She had a nephew in Bookham and a niece whose home is unknown. Apparantly she was quite wealthy and a widow at the date of her own death. Not known how old she was but guess is about 70 at death maybe more. It is thought that Mrs. B might have been a cousin of my grandmother or possibly an aunt? Grandmother's maiden surname was Mayne, her father was Robt. Mayne who seems to have had or worked at a bakery in the area. Can anybody remembers the old 1930's thru 1960's throw somelight on Mrs. B's real surname? rodc
