Who has some memories and historical facts about this pub? It was at the side road of Beckenham junction railway station. When did it open? I think it was around 1969/71, bit fuzzy on the exact year.

I celebrated my 18th birthday in the Golden Arrow (22.8.1975) It was usually busy, but not as much so as Three Tuns which was sometimes impossible to move around in.

"The Golden Arrow Pub" & patio facing Southend Rd, at Beckenham Junction opened it's doors 7th of May 1968 in a brand new building it was part of a complex which also housed an auto dealership on Albemarle Rd, it has since expanded and the pub now "Neils". I was 16 and always got served either a Worthington E or Carling Black Label. The interior design was based on Victorian 'railway' having a couple of pillars modeled on station cover supports etc with maybe Tiffany style street lamps, it was usually a fog ! all very pseudo . I remember one summers evening David Bowie pulled up in an over loaded blue Fiat 500 and 5/6 of his mates all got out for a drink.

Hello, I was visiting the Golden Arrow in 1971-72. I was a German Au-pair-gir, living in London. Christopher Brown frequented the pub nearly daily then. He was a very tall, blond guy an an guitar player. I would be interested what happend to him. Does anybody know? Thanks.

Hi Maria sorry about the length of time replying. Would that be a German guy ? I was around Beckenham then and knew a lanky (tall) German electric guitar player looking for gigs. I'm not sure if his name was Chris, but he was defiantly German.

Hi Nigel, thanks a lot for your reply. But no, Christopher Brown was an English guy. Perhaps he will come back into your mind.

Hi Maria This one is a bit like Emmental cheese. I think I have a good memory and then someone brings the cheeseboard out . Never mind, someone might know or remember.

Yes there did, some people still refer to the old pub as 'The Railway Signal'
