It is a pity the club has closed. Opened in 1912 the club did not make it to its 100th birthday. Named after HJ Harvey a Bromley Liberal who wa a friend of Gladstone, the Beckenham Liberal Club can be seen in some photos facing Fairrfield Road where the local Liberals met and socialised after WW1. The Club was known in the past for jazz concerts and it boasted a fine snooker room. The Liberal connection went may years ago, but the name was retained, and the club affiliated to the working mens club and institute union. I see a private club ha opened on the site.

Never would have thought it would become a curry house.
