It would'nt surprise me. I frequented the lodge during the early seventies whilst serving an apprenticeship at Muirheads. It used to have a certain amount of class compared to other pubs in the area.I went in there just before Christmas with my partner and had to wait to be served because the "barman" was playing pool. In my opinion knocking down walls and making it open plan destroyed the intimacy of the Elmer Lodge. With the right investment and management I think it would work as a select restaurant. Until then it will remain a "chav pit".
