Does anyone remember the old lady who used to sell the Evening News next to the Cinema in Beckenham High Street. She was severly handicapped and used to push the papers around in a pram I think. Always had a big great coat on and a headscarf. I was told that her mother used to sell the papers there before her.

Did she use to sleep in the nearby shop doorway? I remember being surprised seeing an old lady there in the 1970s when rough-sleeping wasn't as prevalent (or at least not as widely-known) as it is today.

Yes, that was her, I can not remember when she stopped being there.

Apparently she had a big house in Albemarle Road.
