Like pubs many Petrol Stations have closed over the years. These are the ones that I know of. Some are still garages but do not sell petrol anymore.
Opposite The White Hart (La Roja) West Wickham. Corkscrew Hill, West Wickham. Next to the Rising Sun. The Chinese Garage. Croydon Road, opposite Langley Rd, Elmers End. Beckenham Lane, now Tesco mini market. Beckenham High Street, now Chessington Tyres, next to The Beckenham. Almemarle Rd, now flats on corner of High St. Underneath Bourne House in Beckenham Road.
There must be a few more?

Eden Park: Cooter & Green Ltd, Upper Elmers End Road - it was one of the first JET stations I believe, I used to pull petrol there in 1966 when petrol was 4/7d a gallon!
Coney Hall: Somewhat off-patch, but there was one on the present site of FOCUS. I can remember going there with my father in his 1934 Ford and getting "half of Pool". I was led to believe 'Pool' was the dregs of everything else, but I'm not sure.. it was just the cheapest! I still have the car, by the way. ;D
Hope these are of interest.

(1) On Croydon Road, Beckenham, on the corner of Acacia Road cul-de-sac opposite the shops. It's car sales now but still looks unmistakably like a petrol station. (2) Almost opposite, on the corner of Braemerton Road, I think the current Audi dealership had a petrol station there at one time. (3) The site of the current Mercedes dealership on Wickham Road, just up from where Wickham Road joins Bromley Road at the Beckenham Theatre Centre traffic lights. (4) At Clock House on the main Beckenham-Penge road, on the corner of Sidney Road next to where The Clock House pub used to be. (5, possibly) I've a vague recollection that the often-changing-hands motor repair premises on Copers Cope Road was a petrol station. (6) A bit further afield, Thesiger Road in Penge, the extension of Green Lane, used to have a small petrol station that was usually the cheapest petrol in the area. (7) And here's my trump card: Deen's Garage, the cycle shop at Beckenham roundabout. Until a few years ago, attached to the wall you could see the remains of the petrol pump that was there before the war. I assume the hose swung out on a bracket above the pavement, a fairly common arrangement.

Hi Pete/Ian, just found this site and your enquiry about Cooter & Green. We use to live next door but one to the garage and Mr.Cooter was our neighbour and I was friends with his son Christopher in the early 60's and spent many happy hours playing in the garage after closing time and sitting in all the cars. They were a Jowett Javlin dealer and had just branched into the new Daff car which was one of the very first type varimatic type transmission drive cars. They went on to be a Peugeot dealer and were still there when we moved away in '68. The picture is of my older brother and his mate on there scooters outside our house with the garage clearly in the background. The picture would have been taken in the early 60's

Hey Gus, what a great photo - of both your older brother AND the garage, that is so good to see! I'm not quite sure when you posted this, so I'm really sorry for taking so long to respond - it looks like as far back as 2014. I've been 'absent' from the forum for a while and seem to have missed out on so much.
It's funny now, but you (or your brother anyway) were obviously Mods, whereas I was a Rocker - I can still see (in my mind) my old BSA parked outside the garage, down by the office! We never did the 'Brighton/Mod vs Rocker' thing, we rode our bikes for the love of riding, but the 'rivalry' was fun at the time, if not a tad daft looking back.
I also had a big old Ford Zephyr I used to park along there too... I had two actually, one was black/red, whereas the other was blue/grey... I doubt if you will remember any of these of course, but thought it worth mentioning.
Thanks so much for posting the photo, it's made my day! Pete
EDIT.. on looking back I'm almost convinced I recognise the faces....
